Apsaras is a melodic CV generator and step sequencer. In Random mode it adds up three modulation sources, samples the sum on each clock and snaps it to the notes you pick on its twelve keys, so the melody wanders and stays in key. Catch a phrase you like with the recorder, and Apsaras loops it.
In Sequence mode you enter a melody of up to 256 steps on the same keys, then shape it with swing, gate width, ratchets and octave jumps. Apsaras can record those moves step by step. While it is stopped, a tap on MODE turns the keys into a small keyboard. The 4HP Ap-X expander, included, adds the transport: PLAY, STOP, REC and MODE buttons, three of them with gate inputs.
